Balanced Nutrition to Keep Older Horses Active and Healthy

Assurance offers two Senior Blends with balanced nutrition to keep older horses active and healthy. Both are formulated as a complete feed with the option of introducing either blend early for the horse that is starting to show signs of aging. The Senior Blend Textured option is a blend with added beet pulp (a highly digestible form of fiber) for the extremely “picky” horse. Most of the molasses in this Senior Blend is added with the beet pulp, making it extremely palatable. The Senior Blends can be fed as a total ration without hay or as a complete ration supplemented with some hay. These pelleted forms provide highly digestible sources of fiber and protein, with a concentration of vitamins and minerals necessary for good health and fitness. Soybean oil, added for a concentrated form of energy, also promotes healthy hair and bloom. Hay Cubes

Assurance Hay Cubes are formulated for all horses as a forage replacement or supplement. The hay cubes are made with premium alfalfa and timothy hay, which are processed in an ISO 9000 compliant facility to virtually eliminate dust, mold and mycotoxins. The Alfalfa, Timothy, Alfalfa-timothy and Timothy Balance Cubes are certified to be free of noxious weed seeds. All formulas are grown under irrigation, dehydrated and cubed to preserve nutrients. Shredded sugar-free beet pulp, vitamins and minerals are added to Premium Timothy to formulate Timothy Balance. Timothy Balance has a very low NSC, and may be fed to horses with PSSM, RER, ESPM, Cushing’s disease, EMS, Shivers and other metabolic disorders affected by sugars and carbohydrates. Assurance Premium Horse Pasture Mixes

Germination rates of all seeds are tested twice to ensure 85% to 90% or more germination – Guaranteed! None of the varieties chosen will gravitate to the bottom of the bag – you will have an even mix of all grasses throughout your pasture, and there will be less selective grazing. Special care was taken to minimize levels of fructan (a sugar), which will reduce the risk of colic and other problems related to carbohydrate intake. Each bag is certified to be free of noxious weed seeds, and each bag conveniently covers one acre. Heavy soil is dark colored loamy soil that retains moisture. Light soil is light colored sandy soil that does not retain moisture. Both of these mixes support continuous grazing, rotational grazing and hay production.
